Little Guy Nationals Sees Familiar Faces In Victory Lane

   HARTFORD, SD — Craig Hanisch survived an arduous 20 lap Express Copy and Printing Late Model Street Stock feature on Saturday night to win his fifth feature in that division this year.  Hanisch took control of the race and sped by John Hoing after going to the top of the track.  Hoing had led the first 14 laps.  The win paid $700 while the Late Model Street Stocks ran with top wings in the Little Guy Nationals main event.  The race was slowed many times by cautions.  Kipp De Groot and Don Bickett were involved in an accident and Matt Steuerwald and Brylee gough suffered blown engines.

   Tracy Johnson returned to victory lane for the sixth time this season.  His USRA B-Modified win was his eighth consecutive Top 5 finish at I-90 Speedway.  Johnson took the lead from Devon Schlumbohm at the half-way point and then outraced Tyler Johnson and Kenny Scholten in his newly red-panelled ride.

   It must’ve seemed like an eternity for Tim Waltner since his last Hobby Stock win.  After winning seven features in 2010, Waltner hadn’t beaten the field since opening night.  An obviously relieved Waltner passed Zach Olivier to secure his second win with four laps to go in Saturday’s Hobby Stock A-Main.  The win helped Waltner move to second in the point standings, still a distant 95-points behind Travis Schreurs.

   Harley Bauman’s eighth Fast Auto Wash Super Charges win was one of the more exciting ones for her as she passed Tyler McFarland on the final lap.  Her eight wins is a track best at I-90 Speedway this season.

   The Little Guy Nationals featured extra laps in all four A-Mains.  Hard Core Speed Shop IMCA 360 Sprint Cars return this week after their lone week off.
