Rules |
CHASSIS
- All sprint car frames must be a sprint car design. Both torsion bar & coil over are allowed.
- No aluminum frames, no aluminum king pins, no aluminum kick bars and no aluminum bumpers.
- Roll cages must be a minimum of (1.375) inch diameter (.095) thickness, seamless tubing.
- All race cars must have a front bumper, rear bumper and kick bars on both sides of the race car, steel only.
- All race cars must have a racing fuel cell with bladder.
DRIVE-TRAIN
- All cars must have a minimum of (3) wheel brakes. (Inboard & front brake)
- In & out box, sliders & shifter rear ends only. No transmissions or clutches.
- The drive line must be fully enclosed by a torque tube, torque tube must have a 3/8 inch inspection hole. A drive shaft loop or a drive shaft strap is mandatory.
- No rotating titanium components allowed with exception of lower shaft in rear end.
ENGINE
- All engines maximum 360 C.I. (2% allowance when tubing for C.I.)
- Cast iron blocks only.
- Only ASCS Aluminum heads are allowed, or cast steel heads allowed. Only 23 degree heads will be allowed. Offset rocker arms will be allowed if the offset does not exceed .250". No raised runner heads allowed. Titanium valve retainers will be allowed. Any Ford cast iron head will be allowed.
- Any size length nozzle allowed in the injectors. All engines must run injector sleeves with a minimum length of 3 inches of 1 7/8 inside diameter (bevels, tapers, etc.. are NOT included in the 3 inch measurement of the 1 7/8 inch diameter restrictor). This sleeve must seal with the injector stack. Injector sleeves must be round, inside weld maybe removed. No claim.
WEIGHT
- Car and driver must weigh a minimum of 1550 lbs. immediately after each race. Failure to weigh or failure to meet minimum weight will result in disqualification from that race and all points and pay will be forfeited. If running aluminum heads, all bolt on weight must be bolted ahead of motor plate.
FUEL
- Only alcohol or ethanol will be permitted. No gasoline.
- No performance additives allowed.
SUSPENSION
- No adjustable (from cockpit) shocks or torsion Bars allowed.
- Coil over suspension is allowed.
TIRES
- Right rear tire must be Hoosier SP2, SP3 or SC25. Left rear tire must be Hoosier RC1.
- All front tires must be Hoosier.
- No tire softeners allowed. Tires must durometer within factory specifications.
WHEELBASE
- Minimum (84) inch wheelbase.
WHEELS
- No plastic wheels allowed.
- Carbon fiber wheels will be allowed.
- Beadlocks are highly recommended
WINGS
- Maximum top wing size of 25 square feet with 30-inch side panels. Maximum center foil width 60 inches. A one inch wickerbill maximum. The main body of the wing can not have more than a 2-1/2 inch depth, measured from the top of the wickerbill to the top of the leading edge of the body of the wing. The 12 inch section located at the rear of the center foil must not have the belly/curl arc out of proportion with the rest of the center foil. Belly/curl arc must span the entire length of the center foil and appear to be a gradual arc with the deepest point no further back than 48 inches from the leading edge. The belly/curl arc must start at the center foils’ leading edge and shall not exceed a depth of 2-1/2 inches. Center foil thickness cannot exceed 9 inches. Top surface of the wing measuring crosswise must be flat. No car will be allowed to compete without top wing. No additions to center foil. Center foil must be one piece. Side panels must be one piece. No split wings or bi-wings. Top
wings must not extend beyond outside of rear tires. Front wing maximum size is 6 square feet with a maximum width of 36 inches. Side panels cannot exceed 26 inches in length or 12 inches in height and may have top and bottom turnouts of no more than 1/2 inch. The horizontal distance from the front edge of the front axle to the most frontal portion of the front wing cannot exceed 20 inches nor can any part of the front wing extend beyond a point one inch back from the front edge of the front bumper. No wicker bills or gurney lips allowed on center foil. No split wings are allowed. No rudders allowed underneath center of top wing. No side foils, rudders or panels are to extend beyond roll cage on any side, no body pieces to extend beyond or underneath front torsion tube except hood. Sunshields cannot restrict vision. No wedges or foils underneath race car. No pieces may be added to the basic frame so as to resemble, imitate or be specifically designed to deflect, trap or form a wind break of any nature, except those used to cool or protect the motor and braking system. No cockpit adjustable front wings.
SAFETY
- Competition shoulder harness and lap belt must be a minimum of (3) inches wide. Submarine belt and arm restraints are mandatory. Metal to metal buckles are required on shoulder harness and lap belts. All belts are required not to be over (2) years old.
- Fire retardant racing suit is mandatory.
- Fire retardant racing gloves and shoes are mandatory.
- Fire retardant socks, underwear and hood are highly recommended.
- Neck brace is required.
- Roll cage net is mandatory.
- Helmets - SNELL SA2000 or SA2005 required. Helmets must be worn at all times when driver is operating race car.
- No transmitting or listening devices are allowed in the race car.
- No electronic monitoring computer devices capable of storing or transmitting information, except tach, allowed on the race car.
- Aluminum racing seat fastened to roll cage required so top of helmet has a minimum of 2 inch clearance to the top of the halo bar.
NOTE
- Any rules not covered here or any rules in question will be left up to the officials in charge. Their decision will be final.
TRANSPONDER MOUNT LOCATION
- AMB-it Transponder must be mounted on the right frontt. May be mounted on either vertical bar in front of front axel. *Remember the transponder will not read through metal and must be less than 2 feet from ground.
GENERAL RULES
Track officials shall have responsibility for rules regulations enforcement at all events. At the discretion of track officials in charge, any competitor may be disqualified for rule violations, hazardous equipment or hazardous actions. All cars are subject to inspection at any time. Approval of vehicle by the inspector shall mean only that the vehicle is approved for participation in a competitive event and shall not be constructed in any way to mean that the inspected vehicle is guaranteed mechanically sound. Be it further declared that the inspector shall not be liable, for any losses or injuries resulting from the same. Any unsportsmanlike conduct by the drivers, owners and/or pit crews shall be grounds for disqualification. Drivers are responsible for the conduct and action of their crew members. Absolutely NO alcoholic beverages will be consumed by driver or pit crew prior to or while competing. No use of illegal drugs. All drivers must be at least 16 years of age (proof of age required). Drivers under 18 years of age must have a signed and notarized parental consent form by parents or legal guardian and said consent must be in the hands of the track official before the individual will be allowed to participate in any event. The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these event, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator or official. The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specification herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her
opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation of deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final
