Hanisch claims 50th, Jansen lightning quick in second I-90 win of season

Jared Jansen was lightning fast Saturday night at I-90 Speedway as he paced the field for all 20 laps in the Justice Fire & Safety IMCA Sprint Car feature.
Casey Abbas closed on the race leader in heavy traffic in the closing laps but had to settle for second ahead of Jesse Lindberg. Shane Fick was the hard charger going from tenth to fourth just ahead of Trefer Waller.

It was a milestone win for Craig Hanisch in the T&R Contracting Late Model Street Stocks. The Sioux Falls driver notched career win number 50 at the speedway and 30th in the class. Hanisch has the most win in the track’s history. Dave Kuchta led the first 12 laps of the event and would settle for second ahead of Matt Steuerawald who was filling in for Michalob Voeltz – Voeltz was getting married. Tim Dann and Dustin Gulbrandson completed the top five.

Brock Hess continued his domination of the Great Western Bank USRA B-Modified season getting his fourth win of the year – this time from row six. Tyler Tesch was second ahead of Camden Myers, Chris Ellingson and Tyler Myers.

Eric Stanton took his first career I-90 Speedway win in the Lawn & Snow Company USRA Hobby Stock feature. It was just the second appearance of the season at the track for the driver who entered the weekend number two in the national USRA standings. Dustin Gulbrandson, the defending national champion and current national USRA points leader was second in the feature with Tracy Halouska in a close third. Alex Wiertzma was fourth and Dawson DeBoer fifth.

The Paramount Racing Series highlights the Wyffells Hybrids Harvest Series this next Saturday night. The event will also host the late model street stock legends race.
